I'm baaaack! I've got to unpack & I've got to pack!
Yep just a short stop over at home and then we are off again and this time heading to the wonderful Quebec City - one of my favorites!
We happily arrived back to LAX yesterday, just in the nick of time...beating out storm Kayla who was making her way to wreck havoc on flights in/out of the Denver Airport (amongst others).
Once home, we were happily greeted by the Fam Bam, who couldn't believe that we will be making our way back to LAX in only 2 days! They can't seem to understand my love (need) to travel and explore! Oh well they love me anyhow - and I them!
The view from my block.
Being that it is Travelin' Tuesday, I thought that I'd share a little news with you about the tickets that we just purchased to go to the 128th Pasadena Rose Parade! Yup that's almost a year away, and we did just go to the 127th Rose Parade. But Dave and I had so much fun that we are already amped to go and do it all over again... I say Dave and I, because the kiddos who came this year have opted to sleep in next year and skip it!
Today is also Groundhog Day. The famous groundhog has been forecasting for 130 years.
DID YOU KNOW: Groundhog Day celebration is rooted in a Celtic tradition that says if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on February 2, the Pagan holiday of Imbolc, winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow was seen, legend says spring would come early.
And as Elisa mentions in her column and as the Omaha.Com reports:
"Omahans navigated snowy city streets this morning, the folks who handle Punxsutawney Phil say the groundhog has failed to see his shadow. Which means he's predicting an early spring." Well, I guess I'm okay with that...as long as it doesn't interfere with my ski season!
Speaking of which, let's take a look at some of these amazing summit depths for the California mountains:
Mammoth Mountain - 165” Tahoe Donner - 140” Squaw Valley - 125” Sugar Bowl - 125” China Peak - 122"
Not that I'll actually be skiing at any of these resorts this season (next season I'll be going to Mammoth Mountain and Squaw Valley); but the California resorts that I will be going to are all around that 100" mark - so definitely to too shabby!
The weather is so difficult to predict, as I'm sure that you've shook your head at your local weather person's reports. So you can imagine how difficult it is to predict the best places to ski for a given season (when you are booking pretty far in advance - like me). Because if you don't make the "right" predictions you can be screwed either way - Not enough snow. Or no availability at the local lodges/hotels/condos.
So I just book where I WANT to go and leave it up to the snow gods!
Okay folks, I've got a heck of a lot to do!
Catch ya back here tomorrow, -T

Groundhog Day 2016
HELLO! Today is Groundhog's Day. So, the answer is in. The little guy did not see his shadow - what does that mean? Spring will come early.
Not that we've had much of a Winter this year, but I am grateful for an early Spring, just the same!
