Tanya's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 12 DAYS
A rare time of R&R...
Happy Sunday! It's the last Sunday of the year, only 5 more days until 2016!
I got on here after Elisa had already finished her side of the blog and after reading what she wrote I fully concur in the appreciation of having each and every one of our readers/followers/subscribers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
I'm also so glad that Elisa and the girls are not running around and sightseeing on their current trip in Florida, and that they are taking the relaxing break that they needed. Life can be stressful enough and with all that my dear cousin has gone through these past few months, she definitely needed some good R&R. Down time can really work wonders!
Meanwhile, over here in Cali we are also taking a much needed break over this holiday week from all of the hustle and bustle of our own crazy daily lives.
Yesterday I literally sat around doing much of nothing (aside from some online shopping - yes I am a shop-a-holic), and I spent the day enjoying the company of loved ones who were also just hanging out.
Some were also taking full advantage of the day by catching up on their ZZZ's (Dave B).
The kids all laughed and played. The girlies were dressed in one of their new outfits (every year I buy them a matchy matchy outfit - like they are twins, when they are not even sisters - they are cousins), and they looked so darn cute!
We had Matt (our honorary family member over) for most of the day, and then we even had a surprise guest - a friend from choir - come on by (after being invited), to hang out with the kids and stay over.
We all spent the day munching on goodies... In fact the cookies are all gone - not to worry I'm gonna bake more today! And come dinner time, my break was over and it was time for me to head back into the kitchen and make dinner. We had another feast around the table, filling our stomachs, story telling and laughing so hard that our stomachs hurt. Jet can be so weird around newbie house guests (Jayson). It was hilarious! We were rolling with laughter! Today the BIG plan of the day is to go see the new Star Wars movie! We are expecting some super long lines (at least that's the rumor).
I imagine that these guys will dress up in their Star Wars gear (t-shirts) and that it will be eventful. I remember going to see Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace back in 1999 at the Ziegfeld theatre in Manhattan. The Ziegfeld theater built in 1969 at 141 W. 54th Street near the site of the original Ziegfeld Theatre, is the largest cinema in the city with nearly 1,131 seats and continues to be the site of film premieres and gala events.
It was quite an event with all sorts of sights/sounds, interesting characters, news reporters and more. We were there with a group of family and my sweet baby Dominic (only a mere 6 months old at the time).
And being that I had a wee baby with me that caught the attention of the local news which went ahead and interviewed me holding my sleepy baby. It was a fun experience although certainly not my favorite movie, but since DC is a big fan we were there. And now that baby of mine is 17 years old and following his pops footsteps in the fandom of Star Wars! I'm sure that he's excited, actually I'm sure that they all are, including their friend who will still be here with us.
Well I'm gonna go now, I'll let you know what I think of the movie tomorrow!
Bye 4 Now, -T
Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: BOCA RATON, FLORIDA
Good Things To Come
Before I go any further, I want to tell you all just how much you mean to me! For the past 19 months, Tanya and I have been writing our Travelin' Cousins blog - our success is a result of having you follow our daily entries!
I realized on Christmas just how lucky we are to have you and your loyalty and wanted to say a special thanks!
I also feel that I need to be comest with you as we embark on the new year in less than a week.
The past few months have been filled with a great many challenges for me, having recently become a single mom. My gratitude is abundant to my family and friends who have been there to support me and having this wonderful blog with my bestie cousin, Tanya has been a tremendous blessing.
As a result of working through the many new circumstances as I transition from one lifestyle to another, I have, unfortunately, had days that I have not posted. Dear Tanya has picked up the slack, keeping the blog going and keeping you up-to-date on the latest happenings on her end and with great travel news.
I ask you to have patience over the coming weeks and months, should I miss a posting here and there. You are always in my thoughts. As my Grandma Rose used to say..."This too shall pass," and I look forward to making my Daily Scoop more and more valuable to you in the coming year!!!
Here I am in Boca Raton, my 9th day and I wish I had more exciting news about this trip lol!!
With the stress of the past few months, I really just totally enjoyed "vegging" out with the girls and my parents. The girls needed a break from all the schedules and running around as well. As a result, we didn't do much of anything in the way of sights, local things to do and great eats. (we've eaten in most nights).
But, today, we decided that we are going to drive over to Wellington, Florida, better knows as "horse country" down here in South Florida, to visit the Dover Saddlery store.
The girls are so excited to see what equestrian goodies they will find! It will also be an opportunity to share their love of everything horses with Grandma and Grandpa!
I'll be taking pictures of our little outing!
Well, boys and girls, I'm going to head out for my morning walk!
