Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: CINCINNATI
HELLO & HAPPY TRAVEL' TUESDAY TO YOU!
Greetings from Cincinnati, Ohio!!
We drove out from Pittsburgh early yesterday and drove right into the storm!!
We arrived early yesterday, and headed straight for the MLB All-Star Game FanFest located at the Duke Energy Center in downtown Cincinnati.
What a great time, and full of such energetic and gung-ho fans! I was really loving it!!!
I know that I am in the center of where some of the greatest baseball fans are from and where baseball is truly America's favorite past time!
The FanFest (which I attend at all of the All-Star games that I go to) was all on 3 levels of the convention center and was pure fun!
We had a great time, and stayed for hours and hours...
There are tons of activities and interactive events throughout the entire floor, as well as plenty of shopping opportunities, autographs, MLB player interviews, and the list goes on and on...
Once we finally left, I was quite a happy camper and we began the search for the mustache statues!!
We only got 2 out of the 20 so far, because we really needed to go eat...
With all of the excitement we had barely noticed that we were quite hungry since only being sustained by a vegan muffin that we picked up when driving through Columbus on our way to Cincinnati!
Dinner was just awesome! We went to Melt Cafe, which was highly recommended by none other than Gigi!
Plenty more photos to come, as well as reviews... and drama - wait until you hear the non-sense that we had to deal with first thing this morning regarding our tickets for tonight's MLB All Star game!
But as for now, I've got a mega full schedule ahead and need to hit the road again and get my booty in action!
I promise to catch you up with all of goods and the full scoop!
Onward to the All Star Parade, more statues, and the 86th annual MLB All Star Game!!!
It's gonna be a uber fun day!
Luv ya all, -T
Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 3 DAYS
Hello and Happy Tuesday! Travelin' Tuesday to be exact!! My favorite day of the week here on TC!
So, before I begin my little tale of future travel, let me tell you about my day yesterday.
It was a great day! I got all of my errands, phone calls and appointment scheduling completed. Nothing left on my "to do" list - love those kinds of days!
The girls (Gianna, Kelsey and Cosette) were very patient while I took care of all my chores. (As you remember, Cosette is staying with us while Tanya is on her All-Star Road Trip this week).
I promised them that we'd do whatever they wanted once I returned in the late afternoon. They were set on going to Target for some shopping and hitting the movies afterwards to see Minions.
Shopping was lots of fun - just me and the girlies!! Not sure if Cosette was in a bit of shock, as we get hardcore with our shopping - way over the limit on what we bring into the dressing room; yelling at each other; arguing about which department to hit first.
But, hopefully, she knew it's just the way we roll - all in good fun.
We managed to "do some damage" (to the credit card, that is!) and had lots of laughs!
Next stop - The Movies - to see MINIONS!! This was actually Kelsey's suggestion. You may not realize it, but I am a HUGE Despicable Me/Minions Fan!!!
I have been known to watch both Despicable Me and Despicable Me II even if there are no kids around!! I just think they are so well written with such witty humor!!!
Honestly, I think I was more excited than the kids!!
Here is the trailer if you haven't already seen this adorable film yet!!!
MOVING RIGHT ALONG.... So, what's coming up on our travel agenda?? In the immediate future - er, uh - this Friday, I'll be hooking up with Tanya again to head up to Niagara Falls and then onto Toronto!!!! Another Cousins Road Trip. We'll be caravanning starting in Queens.
Here are a few of the Major sites we'll be visiting:
Niagara Falls: Maid of the Mist Sometimes a picture, or in this case, a video, is worth a thousand words. Thought I'd SHOW you what we are going to be doing rather than try to explain it. Straight from the official Maid of the Mist website (www.maidofthemist.com)
Couldn't be more excited to see the Falls up close and personal!!
Cave of Winds The Cave of the Winds was a natural cave behind Bridal Veil Falls at the Niagara Falls. The cave is some 130 feet high, 100 feet wide and 30 feet in depth. Discovered in 1834, it was originally dubbed Aeolus' Cave, after the Greek god of winds.
"Today, visitors walk into a stormy mist zone, where “soaking up the experience” takes on new meaning," according to Niagara Falls State Park website.
We will venture this amazing, walk decked out in our souvenir rain ponchos and specially designed sandals!! Trekking wooden walkways along Niagara River to the Hurricane Deck, we'll enjoy a spectacular view just feet from the torrents of Niagara Falls!!!

Toronto: Blue Jays Game This was totally Tanya's idea!! Since we are going to be there anyway, she snagged a bunch of tickets for us to go enjoy a Blue Jays game in Rogers Centre. Going to be a fun day as this will be my girls first baseball game.
St Lawerence Market This market is made up of three buildings and is considered one of the greatest markets in the world! CLICK HERE to read more.

This is definitely going to be another fun road trip for us cousins.
We will be staying in a hotel in Niagara Falls, but, once again, our stay in Toronto will be in an apartment rental together. Tanya and I have to get crackin' on planning our meals for the gang. Tanya and Dominic will be returning back to New York tomorrow and we'll be having a mellow day hanging out at my house - just chatting, catching up on the past few days, watching movies and we'll probably also slug in a manicure for Tanya!
