Only two more days until the weekend, and only two more days until I need to be packed (I'm still not even unpacked) and ready to head down to San Diego for some Ballooning, Biking, and Baseball FUN!
And since today is W2GW (Where to go Wednesday) I'll be sharing how you too can join in on some of the great fun that I'll be having!
But first, I'll give you the SCOOP on yesterday... Yesterday was Andrew's birthday (Jet's boyfriend and Chaplin's daddy) the birthday guy decided that he wanted to go bowling, to the beach, and then have a nice family dinner at home.
So a group of us took him up on the bowling and headed over to Bowlmor at the Tustin District.
It was a hip, fun and happening bowling alley, with 30 glow-in-the dark lanes and 12-foot-tall flat-screen TVs above each one! This was my first time there and I had a blast - plus, I didn't bowl too shabby either...maybe it was the great music playing that got me in my bowling groove! LOL
I even purchased 3 bowling memberships for the remainder of summer! Hopefully we make use of them!!
Anyhow, IMO this is the best bowling alley around. Check it out for yourself -
My little gang of myself, the kids and my mom opted out of going with the trio to the beach and to catch up with them later on for dinner and cake; as we still needed to run some errands and take Dominic to his classes.
While sitting there watching Dominic and flipping through some magazines, I happened to be struck with a bit of jet lag (which I only occasionally get and ONLY while at Home), so rather than doze off while sitting there, I took the opportunity to take a brief nap in the truck.
Then once we got home it was party time! Dinner and cake that is. We all sat around the table and enjoyed dinner together and then when it was time for cake, little Chaplin had set the table all by herself! She had also picked out the party supplies while shopping with her mom - she chose Mickey Mouse to be the theme for her dad's birthday!
While I am usually traveling over Andrew's birthday, this was a rare year that I was home and all in all it was a very fun day!

Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: SEPTEMBER
W2GW - New York City Area
Good Day to you and Happy Hump Day!!
If you haven't noticed, I've been having a little love affair lately with New York City and the surrounding area!!! My hometown and greatest city in the world!! (well, one of them anyway lol).
Be back to that thought in just a moment... Yesterday was another hot one here on Long Island. They are calling it a heat wave with daily temps hitting 90 degrees. I don't know, I thought Summer was supposed to be hot.
In any case, I had a pretty mellow day. I spent the day with my Mom and Dad and their little teacup Yorkie, Mikey!
I hadn't just hung out with my parents in a while and it was a nice change of pace. Watched a little TV with Dad on his porch - where, by the way, there was the most delightful breeze in spite of the hot weather!
The kids were thrilled to spend time there and Kelsey even went out on a quick excursion with "Grandma" to the hair salon, where she received some pampering and had her hair blown out and curled! Unfortunately, the humidity pulled the curl right out :-(
Mom ordered in dinner for us and following dinner I took the longest walk. By this time, the temps had dropped a bit and there was an incredible breeze in the air. I was able to catch up with my sister, Danielle during my walk as she is away this week on a baseball championship trip in Cooperstown for her son's team.
Yesterday my nephew Nolan hit two home runs in on one game!!! Way to go Nolan!!
Mom and I snuck out for a few moments to Starbucks for an evening beverage, when I returned from my walk. I was happy to have some alone time with my "mommy" and shoot the breeze.
All in all, it turned out to be a wonderful day!
Back to W2GW... This is the day that Tanya and I tell you about local things to do all around the globe.
I have a few "where to go's" right here in New York City, to which I'll be headed during the next month:
* Coney Island and Luna Park Anytime The plan was go head to Brooklyn tomorrow with the kiddies but the weather forecast says rain, so now we are planning to go next Friday, weather permitting!
* The Bronx Wanderers - Concert Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center Sunday August 30, 2015 "The Bronx Wanderers deliver a high octane 50′s, 60′s and 70′s musical experience. United by their passion for great music, gold record producer Yo’ Vinny and his sons Vinny “The Kid” and Nicky “Stix” form the heart and soul of this pitch perfect band that recreates the magic of the era in a non-stop barrage of hits. This is an evening of guaranteed toe-tapping, hand-clapping, dancing in the aisles fun." -CLICK HERE or Image below for more information & tickets. I'll be attending this concert next Sunday with the whole family, along with my bestie Lisa and her daughter Sarah and our friend John, who actually grew up with these guys!!
* Ferrogosto 2105 - Arthur Avenue, Bronx Sunday September 13, 2015 - Noon to Six Tickets: $33 to $53 The Ferragosto tradition is a celebration about the end of the harvest season and enjoying its fruits. More than 15 years ago the merchants of the Arthur Avenue/Belmont section of the Bronx decided to bring the this tradition to the Bronx and offer visitors a chance to share in Italian culture, traditions, music and of course, the greatest food.
Today I'll be hanging out with my girlies! Going to have a totally unplanned day - take it as it comes and enjoy the time together!!
May go see a movie tonight, but more than that, I haven't made much of a plan. Sometimes it's good to just be and let the day unfold!!!
