On the Horizon
Well hellooooo there!
Glad you made it back.
Ya know, sometimes when I'm home I get on here and really have no idea what I'm about to write. LOL And then it just comes to me as I'm typing away. Well today was one of those days and I figured why not chat about some upcoming plans.
So to begin with, as you can see I have 1 week before Dave and I leave on our first mountain biking trip of the season. We are going to Moab, Utah and I'm pretty excited about that, but I also expect that my legs will be pretty beat by the end of the trip.

I haven't worked on my mountain biking since...
Well now I have to think about it - I honestly don't think I've mountain biked since being up in Mendocino last November. And that was pretty easy riding.
I know it will be beautiful, I'm just praying for that good 'ol muscle memory to kick in!
Less than a week after that trip and 14 days from today, we will be on our way to Monterey, CA. Home to the World's Premier Cycling Festival - The Sea Otter Classic.
We are signed up for the Gran Fondo Coastal, a 49-mile oceanside course
This is a GORGEOUS ride, but as you can imagine by looking at the above graph, the last few miles there are going straight up and if memory serves me well (which is always does), my poor legs will be completely shot and plain 'ol pooped by this time of the ride. With each push of the pedal I feel the burn and exhaustion. So I'm hoping that sometime between now and then that I can find some sort of muscle recovery drink or something similar that can aide me at the tail end of this ride to the finish line.

After that and exactly 23 days from today is when we head up to San Francisco. Not for biking, but for Westpex "America's Best Stamp Show"
Dave has been checking out the schedule and is planning out our days. Where as I am in change of our eating plans and as I mentioned to you yesterday, I've made reservations for us to have Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont in San Francisco, which should be quite lovely!!
In 29 days from today Dave and I will find ourselves in good 'ol NYC for the TD Five Boro Bike Tour.
We are very excited to be a part of this event, where approximately 32,000 cyclists pedal their way through all five boroughs on a traffic-free, 40-mile course. How often are any of the streets in NYC traffic-free and bike friendly?!
The BIG one that I've been currently working is next... In 40 days from today, Dave and I will be on our way explore parts of central Europe that I've yet to journey to, as well as parts that I look forward to returning to.
This was origianlly a trip that I was expecting the kids to be excited about. But instead, they are still catching up from our recent return from Europe. And they knew that going again so soon after returning would just be too much for them.
Plus they have a few big upcoming trips (we'll chat about these on a later date) that they did sign on for and I want them to be full of energy and excitement for those!
So when I left off with you yesterday I had the Poland, Germany and More trip Days 1 & 2 all planned out and was going to work on some more.
Well I did and now I also have Days 3 & 4 planned. Take a look:
Day 3 will be continuing in Ponan, Poland where we will be seeing things such as the Old Market Square which happens to be listed as one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments. We'll also go up to the Observation Deck at the Royal Castle for a grand view of the city centre. And check out the Church of St. Stanislaus the Bishop and the Martyr with it's most exquisite examples of Baroque architecture!
Before the end of Day 3 we will be visiting Torun, Poland for a brief look around and then off to Gdansk.
Day 4 we will be waking up in Gdansk, Poland and touring Dluga street which is known as one of the prettiest streets of architecture in Gdansk and possibly in the entire country of Poland. We'll also have a gander at the Amber museum - being that Gdansk is the capital of Amber! And a go at the historical museum of Gdansk which appears to have amazing ceilings.
The Pier in Sopot is another stop that we'll being making a trip out to and if you know me I'm sure I'll be adding even more!!

Anyhoo, that's about it for me today.
We're about to head out to the stables and I've got some other errands to run.
Bye for now, -Travelin' Tanya
