Tanya's Daily Scoop Covering the West Coast & the World NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 10 DAYS
An Easter Album shared
As much as I'd like to report that this a week of new adventures, that won't be until 10 days from now when we head off into the horizon on our first mountain biking destination of 2018 - Moab, Utah.
But rather we are onto a new week that is full of errands and playing catch up to my few days of barely moving with my ever so awful stupid sinus infection. I still have to unpack, have much cleaning and organizing to do, things to put in the mail, banking stops, grocery shopping, etc... Ya know, all the fun of a domestic goddess! LOL
And so while I go out and pretend to be a domestic goddess, let me share with you our 2018 Easter Album.
From Easter Bunnies to Easter Baskets, finding out someone is pregnant and everything in between please enjoy a Happy Easter from my family to yours...

And while there were a bit of shenanigans that occurred at a few of the locations yesterday, I choose to focus on the positive rather than the negative. And now it's time for me to go!

Elisa's Daily Scoop Covering Long Island & NYC Boroughs NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: POSTPONED
Elisa's Monday Feature, Snow & Postponed Trip
The start of a new week and a new month. Well, actually, yesterday started off the month, but with it being Easter and all, I didn't focus much on the date.
What a week it has been on my end! I'm hoping this one is better. Waking up to snow on the 2nd Day of April is a little strange though, I must admit!

I was just down for the count yesterday with this cold. I guess in hindsight, it was inevitable that I would catch Gianna's cold, taking care of her, being coughed on and cleaning up after her. Fortunately, I think it's on the down swing as I woke up feeling lighter and less congested. That's the good news.
With the week off from school for Easter Break, I had planned, as you know, to enjoy a mini road trip this week to Hudson, New York.
Fully booked in our B&B, Thyme in the Country, our itinerary completed and pretty well packed for our two night stay, that all came to a screeching halt yesterday.
Feeling the worst yesterday after coming down with this silly cold last Thursday, I was getting worried that it might get worse still in the coming days.
I decided to be proactive and called the B&B to inquire about their cancellation policy. I was even thinking, that perhaps it might be an option to cut down our stay to one night, if I was still deep under the weather today, when we were scheduled to leave.
Then, right after leaving a message on the B&B voicemail, Kelsey came down to tell me that she was having abdominal pain. Her description of all the symptoms sounded like a UTI to me, so, I took Kelsey right over to the Urgent Care clinic.
Sure enough, she tested positive and off we went to fill an antibiotic script. Ugh - what more?
Mary (Thyme in the Country B&B owner) and I finally connected by phone when I got back home and after our conversation, it dawned on me how things happen for a reason.
All morning I was lamenting about why I had to get sick this week; that I had missed celebrating Easter, going to church and dinner; what possible reason did the universe have for me to 'not go' on this little get away.
Well, as it turns out, Mary's husband is having some major health issues and this past weekend had turned into a rough one for him, and, likewise for her. She was wondering if we were thinking of canceling. I explained our plight and that if we did consider canceling, I was fully ready, willing and able to pay any cancellation fee.
It was then that I realized that this weekend was just not meant to be. Had I not gotten sick, I would never have called Mary. We would have just gotten in the car, headed up to Hudson and spent the two days as planned - probably causing much stress to Mary and her husband. But, instead, I did get sick and had to call her and found out that she was having a terrible time feeing awful about wanting to cancel the weekend to tend to her husband.
Never ceases to amaze me how the universe orchestrates things.
So, after a very heartfelt conversation, we decided that we would postpone our visit and I would call in a week or two to reschedule. And the cancellation fee -- she said not to worry, under the extenuating circumstances. What a sweetheart.
I'll keep you in the loop!! With all this crazy snow weather (in April!!), we will probably enjoy her farm and the area much more in the warmer weather anyway.
Monday again and all new feature in Elisa's Long Island and Travelin' 25!

I do hope you enjoy reading about this 125 year old brand and my positive experience and that it offers you an option when shopping for natural and animal friendly skin and body care products!
As for the rest of my day, I'm planning on relaxing. I'm betting I will feel even better tomorrow and plan to take advantage of $5 Tuesdays at AMC Theatres and take Kelsey to the movies. And I know we'll figure out some other fun things to do.
