Dreams of Asian Travel...Hey there! Welcome to Travelin' Tuesday. If you have been following my blog, you know how I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tuesdays here at Travelin' Cousins. That's because it's our day to share with you, the specifics of our scheduled trips, AND those places on our bucket list that have not as yet been added to our calendar. As I mentioned on Sunday, I have added something to my "Places to Visit" list - and it's in Asia. After reading a brief article the other day, I became enamored with Cambodia. It looks so gorgeous! Many of you know I began traveling to Asia in my early 20's and my affinity for this continent has never wained. I traveled back to Hong Kong, China and Indonesia in my early 30's and promised myself, I would be back in the not-too-distant future to this continent to travel to Thailand and Vietnam. I never really thought about Cambodia, but now, it's high on my radar! Here's what I'm thinking: A three-country, six-city trip -- Thailand - Cambodia - Vietnam, with potential visits to the following cities: * Bankok, Thailand * Angkor Wat, Cambodia * Siem Reap, Cambodia * Phnom Penh, Cambodia * Chau Doc, Vietnam * Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam At this point, with the exception of a few weekend trips and perhaps another Cousins' Road Trip this Fall to the Pacific Northwest U.S., 2015 is pretty much locked up and maxed out with travel. Therefore, it's onward and upward to 2016. Right now the calendar is quite open, with the exception of one definite trip in June-July 2016 to Portugal. Now of course, my only issue with an Asia trip is the travel time required to get there and the extreme jet lag. For me, I can handle it. But, if I do travel to Asia, there is no question I would want my girls to experience the culture and vast differences from anything they have ever seen. So, my dilemma will be when to fit such a trip in so we have the luxury of time. A trip like this will require at least three weeks to fully enjoy everything I would want to see. This just may have to be put off till the summer of 2017 to insure plenty of time for traveling and jet lag recovery for the kids. Not to mention, the Asian experience might be a bit sophisticated, so a few more years, will add to Gianna and Kelsey's maturity and make it a more enjoyable and memorable trip for everyone. In the meantime, I can just dream and research so that when the time draws near, this will be a phenomenal trip!! In other trip news...as soon as Tanya returns from her Ski Utah & Tahoe Road Trip travels, we will be getting to work on finalizing our activity itineraries for: * Cousins Yellowstone Road Trip * Tanya & Elisa's Milestone Birthday Trip to Eastern Europe * Cousins Road Trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto The good news is that all hotels are booked for these trips (with one last booking that needs to be finalized this week for Vienna, Austria for the Eastern Europe trip). We'll be posting about our itinerary progress each Travelin' Tuesday, going forward. Thanks for continuing to Vote!!! ------->>>>------->>>>------->>>> We really appreciate it!! And thanks for the comments - Please keep both of these coming! Here's to a beautiful day!!! -E | Time to go hit the Freshies!Good Day Everyone! As you know, the kids and I are in Park City, Utah on a ski trip and yesterday we decided to take the day off of the skis and watch the snowfall, and boy oh boy did it fall, all day and all night long! You know what this means!!! We are heading to the slopes! We spent a good part of yesterday in front of the warm fireplace, enjoying the serene beauty of the snow fall. It was quite mesmerizing! But instead of staying in all day, we decided to head into town and do some shopping! My knee is still healing, and like an idiot I decided to NOT wear my brace on it for most of yesterday, so by the time we got back to the lodge I was pretty sore and eager for the compression. I'll tell ya one thing, it's not going to hold me back today. Anyhow, I honestly think that walking is less comfortable than skiing...or maybe that's all in my head because that's what I want to believe - so then I guess it is true FOR ME! And being that it is Travelin' Tuesday, I will mention that I've added some restaurants and booked some activities for the wonderful soon upcoming Quebec Winter Carnival trip that is coming up in a mere 12 days! Yup that's right, we'll arrive home from this trip on a Monday night, head straight to Choir rehearsal, and then right after the kids IPC Performance on that Saturday, we'll be heading to the airport and onward to the frigid and bitter cold that Montreal and Quebec is experiencing! So, I'll have a good 4 days to unpack from this trip and repack extra warm clothes and several extra layers for the the next trip! BTW - I'm getting quite excited about this trip!!! Time for me get my booty into gear and go rock the mountain! Catch up with ya later, -T |
