CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: VIRGINIA
Practical Jokers
I'll wish a Happy Sunday to everyone else and a warm and humid GREETINGS from Virginia Beach!
As you know from reading yesterday's blog I've already had a few insect encounters that have put me as far from at ease as you could imagine. Well it seems that people who are not afraid of bugs find me hilarious and like to torment me about it... *more of this below
Yesterday we celebrated Aiden's 3rd Birthday with a lovely pool party. And while I'm not usually the type to go into the pool, I don't mind laying out by the pool and keeping an eye on all the kids playing games having fun and splashing around.
The weather however did not want to cooperate with the idea of a pool party and at a couple of points during the day, the skies had opened up and poured cats and dogs on us. And while the rain alone would be one thing, since there was thunder and electrical booms of lightening it was time to bail from swimming for a while and abide by our number #1 RULE - SAFETY FIRST!
However...but any of this happened, there was all sorts of fun and excitingly not fun things happening around the pool/yard. There was a snake - yea it was only a garden snake...but I DON'T DO SNAKES either!
The kids had decided along with their uncle to pull a prank on their dear old mom. These whipper snappers had placed a fake big plastic ROACH in my plate. MEAN just plain ol' MEAN - but somehow they find it funny.
So once the skies had opened and I was about to gather my belongings to bring into the house, I had glanced over at the plate that I had...I immediately spotted a huge ROACH!!! EWWWWWWWWW
I nearly fell over. I screamed and darted away. Meanwhile they all find it soooo funny!
And although this took place, later on in the day Cosette decided to attempt to hand me the plastic roach and the minute I saw it in her hand I again let out a scream of fear and jumped out of my skin (it's a neat trick that I have lol).
I'm not strager to practical jokes and I find them hilarious - the only thing is I don't do things that scare people. Because it is just mean!
The party was a success and they even surprised their grand dad - a man who has not celebrated his birthday in all of the years that I've known him and many many years before (because his own father had passed away on his birthday) with a birthday cake.
You'll hear (read) all about it in tomorrow's DAILY SCOOP.
Have an awesome day!
