How'd this happen?
Can you believe that it's already June! How'd this happen? We are six months into 2015, and six months from 2016! Holy smokies folkies...that means in another six months it'll be December.
Which means that my life goes on fast forward in only 4 months. And yet there is so much going on the next 4 months - big trips, travel, vacations, etc..
Then with birthdays and holidays, performances and more October-December is usually pretty non-stop. Yet to me it kinda feels like January just happened. Whoa there calendar - slow it down there Bessie!
And being June 1st it happens to be "Say Something Nice Day"! Yup, I haven't ever heard of it either. But it sounds like a very "nice" day.
The aim of this special day is to fight against unkindness, bullying and the lack of politeness that dominates society today. The creators hope that this one day of pleasantness will grow, until people are nice to each other everyday. That's "nice"; So let's all try to be NICE! :)
Anyhow as promised I'm gonna share with you what I decided to do yesterday, and here it is... We played tennis, went to a super cool "newish" ice cream sandwich joint, and saw a movie. Okay so it wasn't in that order... We (Dave B, Cosette, and myself - Dominic wasn't interested) saw the movie 'Hot Pursuit'.
We enjoyed it and it was actually kinda cute. However, the movie theatre was just absolutely PACKED with movie goers there to see San Andreas - the Earthquake movie. I don't really understand that. We live in southern California people... We have actual Earthquakes. Why on earth would you want to see the mass fantasy destruction in a movie about where you live?! SCARY.
I could handle a film about something scary that actually happens far away from where I live, ya know like a Tornado movie (if I were into that sort of thing). But an Earthquake. HELLS TO THE NO! I already hate those things and they already freak the heck out of me, why would I want to see something to terrify me of them even further???
After the movie I had wanted to go rock climbing or biking or do something active, but this gang-o-mine wasn't feeling' it and it was kinda hot out, so I opted to take the kids on a surprise outing to a new place that I heard about called 'Stax'.
'Stax' is a new Ice Cream Sandwich shoppe, where you customize your dessert. It was pretty cool and definitely yummy. And while we were deciding on what to order. Choices choices choices.
You'll never believe who we ran into... Jet, Andrew, and Chaplin (I had told them about this place earlier in the day). Wowzers, what a shock-a-rooney, running into them 2 days in a row!
Cosette letting Dominic taste her "sandwich"
After everyone had enjoyed their sweet treat... Next up was taking Cosette home and picking up Dave C, it was time to go play some tennis, while Dominic played some Basketball (with Dave C).
Once we had broke a sweat and were all tired out, it was time to run into a couple of stores and then make our way home for dinner. And that was it.
As for today, I'm gonna tackle some more shopping, and then later on take the kids to their choir rehearsal. Being that I don't have a meeting later, I plan to take care of a few things on my Travel to do list. Not to worry, I'll fill you in on everything tomorrow!
Toodles Doodles, -T and don't forget to say something NICE!

New week, new month - lots happening
Welcome to a new week and a new month!
I’m ready for all I’ve got going on during this first week of June! Just came off of a wonderfully relaxing weekend with gorgeous weather.
Last night, I took the kids out to The Burger Spot in Garden City for an early dinner and then we made our way over to the movies to see Tomorrowland.
Waiting patiently for their food
Gianna is back to making ugly faces for the camera
Kelsey loves her chicken nuggets and french fries
I had mixed feelings about this film. I’m not a big science fiction fan, but I found I did find it entertaining. I wouldn’t say it was one of my favorites. Kelsey really enjoyed it and Gianna said it was too “nerve wracking for her.”
Here's the trailer - see what you think if you haven't already seen this movie. If you have - leave comment about what you thought of it.
Personally speaking, this week is filled with a great deal.
Today is filled with errands and a trip to the physical therapist for Gianna.
Tomorrow has a morning filled with more house organization.
Wednesday night I’ve got something really fun at night, which I’ve highlighted below, so please read on!
Thursday evening I will be attending a charity fundraiser for the Oxalosis & Hyperoxaluria Foundation along with Denise.
Friday, the kids have early dismissal, so I’ll be taking them to lunch and some shopping along with Denise.
Saturday, we’ve got Horseback riding out east.
And that doesn’t include all the fun and interesting travel stuff I’ll be sharing with you here on my Daily Scoop!
So, let’s get down to things right away.
As I mentioned above, I have plans to go out Wednesday evening: I’m seeing a local show in Astoria, Queens, with my Aunt Ro called Mel & El's “The Mommy Show.”
CLICK PHOTO FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT MEL & EL'S THE MOMMY SHOW
MEL & EL are Melanie Kinard and Ellie Dunn - real life BFFs who have known each other since they were kids. According to their website, they are described as a "musical Amy Poehler and Tina Fey."
They have performed their somewhat "inappropriate" show at comedy clubs, colleges and private parties, and aboard Atlantis Cruises.
"The Mel & El Show", a web series, won Best Web Series at The Las Vegas Film Festival and their debut comedy music album "Mel & El: She's My Bitch" is currently available on iTunes. They are currently working on a second album.
So, although their show is called "The Mommy Show",it is certainly not for mommy's only, according to their website. While they talk a great deal about babies, pregnancy and parent-life, "The Mommy Show" appeals to anyone who has either "had" a parent, is a parent or never wants to be a parent as described on their website.
The show plays live around New York City. For Show schedule,CLICK HERE.

There are two performances at the Q.E.D. this week - Wednesday, June 3rd at 7pm and again at 9:15pm, located at 27-16 23rd Avenue, Astoria, NY 11105.
You know I will give you the full story on what I think later in the week!!
1000 Places to See Before you Die??? Yes folks, have you read this book?
I like to pull out my copy every once in a while to highlight the places I have SEEN ALREADY and then to study all those places I HAVE TO see.
