Tanya's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 15 DAYS
It's gonna be a LONG 48hrs!
Well folks this is THE LAST DAY before Christmas, and I am super stoked and uber excited! Christmas is definitely the most wonderful time of the year, and for me the hours/days leading into Christmas and Christmas Day are some of the most exhausting of the year (the others happen to be Easter - when I wake up at 2am after very few hours of sleep in order to get the kiddos to their call time and performance for sunrise service. and Thanksgiving - when it seems like I'm cooking to days straight and hours on end (I should set up a bunk in the kitchen). Tonight will be another one with very little sleep and lots o lots o work.
Here is my FB post from 2:15a (a few hours ago): "Although I started Christmas shopping back in June, I like to take my time and really get in the holiday spirit thus not finishing until early December. But I was certainly still out there in the hustle and bustle since Dave and the kids still had shopping to do. Now I've been wrapping for days and finally the end is in sight! Family tradition is NO GIFTS UNDER THE TREE UNTIL CHRISTMAS MORNING and with the little nieces and their peering eyes, I dare not begin wrapping until a week before the big day! A very early Merry Christmas Eve to all....Hopefully I get some sleep before the wee hours of the night are over."
Yesterday was quite busy, both in and out of the house and today will be even busier. If I'm lucky I'll be able to bed down by 3am (fingers crossed).
Lots more cookies to bake today with the girlies and still a few more things to wrap, plenty of cooking, and some shopping too, but I'll start the day out with hitting the salon - heck if I'm gonna look exhausted, at least my hair will look good!
Here is the list of the Christmas Goodies that I'm baking:
Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies World's Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Christmas Meringues Butterscotch Blondies Mint Cookies and Cream Truffle Bites Peanut Butter and Butterscotch Haystacks Almond Cookies and if I really lose my mind and decide to go really nuts, I'll also add: Jam Kolaches
I'll let ya know. Until then, please enjoy this immortal poem written by Clement Clarke Moore for his family on Christmas Eve 1822.
DID YOU KNOW: He never intended that it be published, but a family friend, Miss Harriet Butler, learned of the poem sometime later from Moore's children. She copied it into her album, and submitted it to the editor of the Troy (New York) Sentinel where it made its first appearance in print on December 23, 1823. Soon, the poem began to be reprinted in other newspapers, almanacs and magazines, with the first appearance in a book in The New York Book of Poetry, edited by Charles Fenno Hoffman, in 1837.
That's all folks. See ya back here for the big day!!! -T

Merry Christmas Eve!!
Yay!!! My favorite day of the year since I was a little girl - CHRISTMAS EVE!!!
As Tanya says, "Christmas is definitely the most wonderful time of the year!" I couldn't agree more!
This year, we have a pretty small group consisting of Mom and Dad, Gianna, Kelsey and me. So, we are really having a very unorthodox celebration.
And considering we are in Florida, in the warm, tropical weather, the atmosphere this year is mighty different than we traditionally spent.
So, what's happening today? Well, believe it or not, I have a few more gifts to purchase today. Our plan is to actually go out for dinner (I know, this totally goes against our usual way of spending Christmas Eve!).
After our meal, we'll had back home for a few and then head back out to attend midnight mass.
This will be the first year since the girls were little babies that we will be celebrating Christmas Eve at church.
Just like our cousin, Tanya, we will have some baking going on over on the south-east coast today as well!
Now, our crowd is not as big, so we are sticking to only one kind of cookie...Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies. They certainly look DEE-LISH!

Since Gianna is the baker in the family, she picked out these yummy sweet delights!
