I'm back in the OC, after a super deluxe fantastic Ballooning, Biking, and Baseball weekend down in Sunny San Diego!
While most of you know that I am really not a fan of Southern California, I gotta say that out of Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego, that I really do like/enjoy San Diego the BEST!
Yesterday started out with us riding in the 8th Annual Bike the Bay ride, which has definitely gained quite a bit of popularity since the last and only other time that I rode in it back in 2013! (We couldn't participate last year as we were out of the country having an amazing time Touring the UK!)
The News crew and vendors upon vendors came out to celebrate as the ride was packed full of participants ready to get their pedal on!
While the morning remained overcast, it was great for not baking in the sun, but what it wasn't too good for was picture taking...as the lighting was very drab.
The ride was plenty of fun and I listened and be-bopped along to my jams on Pandora as I was pedaling along.
After the ride and getting back to our Hotel we had to clean up and change before heading over to Petco Park for the afternoon ballgame, where the second to last place Padres were going for the sweep over the first place Cardinals...
The game was definitely fun to watch and quite a hit fest (both teams having 11 hits, totally 22 hits in the game).
The excitement had started as early as the first inning as the Cardinals scored 4 of their eventual 10 runs as they pulled out the win with a score of 10-3!
And it was definitely a lot of fun to see that the stadium was already prepping for the 2016 MLB All-Star game!
The shops were already filling up with MLB All-Star game paraphernalia - which as temped as I was to start buying...I have a rule that I can't buy any souvenirs until I have already gone to the place, game or event. But it never hurt anyone to look!
So Dave and I got asked a few times over this weekend if we were celebrating anything special...
And while taking Dave on a Hot Air Balloon ride was his Anniversary gift (there was a miscommunication and I had thought it was going to first time experience).
We had explained and shared that the actual anniversary was celebrated with our recent trip to the Caribbean.
Anyhow...a number of people had asked us if it was a special anniversary...you know kinda getting at that with all the celebrating that we had done this weekend AND the fact that we had also just come back from the Caribbean that it had to be something extra special.
WELL - As I explained, I just like to celebrate!
It doesn't have to be a birthday, holiday, or anniversary - I don't need a reason to celebrate - I LOVE CELEBRATING LIFE!
Sure, I celebrate all the birthdays and everything in between as well. But why should we limit ourselves?! Love life and celebrate it!
And to cap off the day with something quite ridiculous...
After getting back from our trip to the Caribbean, I realized that I was in need of a new SD card.
So off we went to go hunt one down - finding one at CVS (which has totally overpriced SD cards btw) I was in a bind, so we bought one and then tried to open it...
It was like Fort Knox! I couldn't believe how difficult it was to get into the packaging for this darn San Disk Ultra SD Card. UGH
So do yourself a favor out there and buy the SD card before you need it...that way you get a better price and can open it without appearing like some animal! LMAO
PS - we paid more than twice as much for an 8GB at CVS!
And that about does it for today folks. I hope that you had a great weekend, and I look forward to seeing you back here for a new edition of TRAVELIN' TUESDAY!

Last Week of Summer :-(
GREETINGS FROM WESTHAMPTON BEACH!
Yes folks, next week is the official start of school here on Long Island. I am not happy to say the least!!!
I'm spending this last week of my Summer vacation out East in Remsenburg. From what I can tell, the week is going to be a mix of rain and sunshine, with today starting off the week with...overcast sunshine.
So, what's new on Travelin' Cousins??? We're in the process of updating one of our pages: Formerly known as "Links to Links", it is now called "Directory of Resources."
Our goal is to provide you with a link to all the great places and experiences we have had on our travel adventures for your reference!
The page will be completed during the next week, but, we welcome you to take a look so far. CLICK HERE.
Monday in Westhampton Beach.... As I mentioned above, I'm starting my day in Westhampton Beach, grabbing breakfast with my friend John, after dropping the girls off at the barn.
Many of you know, that when I'm home-based in Nassau, my "office away from home" is Starbucks. Well, my Westhampton Beach "office away from home" is Goldberg's Famous Deli & Restaurant.
It's one of, if not, THE best place for breakfast and lunch here in Westhampton. With free wifi, outlets and indoor and outdoor seating, I write my blog here regularly when out on the East end.
Thanks to owners, Gus and Joyce for being so friendly and providing great food and fresh, delicious bagels!
Back to the Barn...
After a week-long hiatus from riding while their trainer was on vacation, the kids were so excited to get to the barn this morning. All three girls (my girls and bestie Lisa's daughter, Sarah) coordinated their riding outfits to match! So cute!
Sarah will be staying with us all week as our houseguest, while I carpool the girls back and forth and have some afternoon fun in the pool and doing whatever else we can all come up with for fun!!
So, a short rant (nothing too serious). I always walk the girls into the barn with their tack box, saddles, saddle pads and food for the day.
Unfortunately, I am never really suited up with proper foot gear - that is, I'm not wearing boots to walk through the barn with its poo-laden floor. So, there I am, with each visit, serpentining as I walk past all the horse stalls. LOL - it's not an easy feat!!

Well, my dear friends, going to do some walking around and shopping in Westhampton!!
I'll see ya back here tomorrow for Travelin' Tuesday!!
