Elisa's Daily ScoopBack in New YorkGreetings from Long Island!! Yes, me and my girlies are back home! We arrived at 9:30 last night after a very civilized day of travel Well, almost -- we had a 90 minute delay for our connecting flight in Denver. But, it was still stress-free just hanging out. Did I mention how much I love Jackson Hole, Wyoming airport?!! Unlike the large cosmopolitan and international airports, it is intimate and cozy with only nine gates, a fireplace and even beanbag chairs! This road trip was one of the most fun trips ever!! The gorgeousness of the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National parks and the open roads and beauty of the states we were traveling through - Wyoming, Montana and Idaho was immensely picturesque. And add to that, traveling and experiencing it all with my favorite cousin Tanya and her family!!! I couldn't have asked for nicer accommodations either -- The Rustic Inn & Spa Creekside (Jackson Hole), Worldmark West Yellowstone (by Wyndham) and The Wyoming Inn (Jackson Hole) - these are all places I would absolutely recommend. We will be updating our Cousins Yellowstone Road Trip page during the next week, with the following: > Hotel Accommodations & Reviews > Airline Reviews > Jackson Hole Enterprise Car Rental > Full Photo and Video Gallery SO STAY TUNED!!! All I can say is WOW What a Trip!! The kids were so excited to return home - you'd think "just to be home" but, as it turns out, my parents were also arriving back home to New York yesterday as well from their "snow birding" in Boca Raton, Florida. Returning this time, they had a new little family member with them - "Mikey" - their new Yorkie Puppy! I promised them they could spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa and Mikey. My Dad is making his famous tomato sauce with pasta which they absolutely love! I'll be doing some unexciting chores today while they are having fun - food shopping, meal planning, unpacking and getting things in order for the week ahead. There's no place like home...till my next trip!! Catch ya back here tomorrow! -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily ScoopBack in SoCalHowdy Folks! Yup I'm BAAAAAAACK....until Friday that is! LOLOLOL After our gang of 4 had a lovely breakkie with Manny and his family, we had hit the road for the last leg of this over 3,500 mile road trip! Here are the numbers: 12 Days - 7 States - 3 Capitals - 2 National Parks - 3,540 Miles - and TONS of FUN with the Cousins! We continued our drive through Sin City on our way back to California and although Dominic and I will be hitting up Vegas for Dave B's Birthday and for our last weekend on our Road Trip to Moab and the Southwestern National Parks; Cosette won't be with us and she seemed like she was eager for a trip to Vegas - so I'm thinking we'll do another Labor Day Weekend in Las Vegas (it'll be our 4th annual Labor Day Vegas Trip) and invite the Fam Bam - fingers crossed that they come along! Driving for 5 and a half hours, we pulled up into our driveway with barely enough time for us to unload and me to get ready for my evening plans! Yup peeps, I'm a bit of a non-stop go go go person! I'm not much of a relaxer. And even when it appears that I'm relaxing (unless I'm asleep) I'm far from relaxing! So last night Dave and I left the OC in just the nick of time and headed to dinner at the LA Hot Spot & Swanky Crossroads Kitchen. Pretentious behavior, & mediocre food. The meal was just ehhh. If that's what you're looking for you'll find it at Crossroads Kitchen. I'm not gonna lie and say that I don't enjoy some of our dinners there and that there are times they are better than others. It's just NEVER freakin' amaze-bomb! But overall I'm convinced that these Angelenos and Southern Califorianites who might beg to differ about the food at Crossroads just have no idea what good food...excellent food really is! And that is why they restaurant tops some 'MUST DINE' lists! Am I too much of a critic? Maybe, but I know what's good, and I know what I like. Will it be the last time I dine at Crossroads? Of course not, they change their menu seasonally, and I'll be curious! I'll just give them a good long break before going back! Read my past review HERE Next up was FINALLY going to see Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway (far from the REAL Broadway) at the Ahmanson Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. I had been looking forward to seeing this performance since before it opened on Broadway. And if you've been following me along, you'd know what, when and how it led to me seeing this show last night. Although I've been to the Ahmanson in the past, I've got to acknowledge that this is one BORING A$$ Theatre. I should've gone in NYC. The show was ehhhh. I was definitely NOT WOWED in any shape or form. I enjoyed the recent 2015 Cinderella film release MUCH BETTER! Now, I've got to get on with my day...probably going on a bike ride, and need to go shopping for Chaplin's birthday presents!!! That cutie pie turns 4 on Thursday! So many upcoming trips on the calendar & I'll share more detail with you on Travelin' Tuesday! Always something to look forward to! That's my life!! See ya tomorrow, -T |
